Monkey Dog Design

Welcome

Do good. Look good.

To make a difference, you need to start by making a splash.

We help you do both by designing beautiful websites and marketing materials.

Who is Monkey Dog Design?

We do our best work with passionate people who are using the web to create good online.

To us, it doesn’t matter whether you’re styling hair in a local salon or you’re transforming lives around the world with an online course...

If you’re tired of business being just about money—if it’s about meaning for you, instead—count us in.

Interested in working with us?

We’re probably a good fit if:

  • You build community. You value relationships. You have integrity. You won’t sacrifice quality.

  • You help others be more: more sustainable. More balanced. More engaged in the world.

  • You get up in the morning for some other reason than “I need more money.”

  • You want to look your best online and you want superstar designers to get you there—but you don’t want a soulless agency who’ll simply crank out work and jack up the bill.

If that sounds like you, let’s make the world a better place.

What we do

Doing good is hard work. We design the things you need to make that hard work easier.

Website fighting food insecurity? Check. Course material empowering your tribe? You got it. Branding that builds a movement from the ground up? We’ve been there—and we loved every second of it.

See some of our sample work.

You're not selling ways to earn more money or have more stuff.

You're helping others be more. More sustainable. More balanced. More engaged in the world.

You build community. You value relationships. You have integrity. You deliver uncompromising quality.

And we fucking love that.

Which is why we're on a mission—to give you more time to do good.

Doing good is hard work.

We design the things you need to make the biggest impact.

Website fighting food insecurity — check. Course material empowering your tribe — check. Branding that builds a movement of better men — check.

We believe that design should not only give more—more connection, more action, more potential—it should also give back.

We have a 20% discount for registered nonprofits, and donate 10% of our profits to local animal services.

If you're out to make the world a better place, we're the design partner for you.

Thoughts about MDD

People work with us because we give them the same services as a design agency, but we go beyond that — we become a part of their lives. We get to know them, their dreams, their ideals, their dogs' names.

Our ideal clients experience the same feeling that big businesses who have an internal design department does: there's someone who works with me in my business who can solve all my design problems. I don't have to worry about it any more, I don't have to look for someone every time I want something done. Hell, I never have to touch PowerPoint again in my life! I can just talk to that person, and they'll not only make it happen, but give me ideas to make it even better.

We don't just do an awesome job, hand out high fives and then fuck off until needed again. We walk with them. We deliver quality, and give them certainty.

who are these clients?

People who make a difference.

  • We work with small nonprofits doing local good (Hole Food Rescue, One22) and educational programs that make writing awesome again (Writing with Design).
  • We work with coaches who approach men as whole human beings (The Lions Pride) and entrepreneurs who make the fashion industry more sustainable (Factory45).
  • We work with small town photographers who win at Instagram and empower other women creatives through online courses (Jenna Kutcher).
  • We work with the millionaire-next-door who is empowering others to achieve the same freedoms through better choices and systems (Lise Kuecker & Roger Whitney).
  • We work with small business owners who serve their clients with a personal touch and uncompromising quality (Luxury Landscape Supply & Blue Mango Salon).

What is their pain?

  1. They can't afford / don't want an agency.
  2. They can't do everything.
  3. They're very principled, so they want someone whose values are aligned with theirs, who has a stake in their success, not just the bottom line or the Instagram-worthiness of the project.
  4. They don't have any time to do extra stuff, or learn new software. They want things to be easier, simpler and more understandable.
  5. They don't want another worry on their plate — running a business is fucking hard enough.

How do we solve it?

  1. We form a long term relationship with our clients that has all the benefits of an agency (quality, insight, services) but with a more personal touch (we also cost less than an agency because fewer overheads).
  2. We do most everything needed, or find someone who can.
  3. We only work with people who make a difference, whose values align with ours — integrity is our main value.
  4. We mostly use software they already know (PowerPoint, Keynote), or that's easy to learn (Squarespace, Shopify), and we teach them how when needed.
  5. We do the work they need. We talk to them, and explain stuff, and give simple next steps. We don't fall off the map, or delivery half-baked shit.
